The 2017 regular season comes to an end

The 2017 regular season comes to an end on Sunday and we'll have to wait to see what happens to see if our Seahawks can continue into the postseason. The Seahawks need a win at home over the Cardinals and the Panthers need to win on the road in Atlanta. If those two things happen, Seattle will get the final #6 seed in the playoffs.

If they are able to get into the postseason, the offense will need to pick up the pace from what we've seen the past couple games. In just a week's time, the defense was able to turn things around and hold the Cowboys run game and get three turnovers. The Seahawks score three touchdowns on all three turnovers and get the 21-12 win over Dallas, but the only offense we saw was on the two scoring drives. Seattle's offense finished the game with under 150 total yards.

It's not going to get much easier for the offense considering how the Cardinals defense has been playing. They shut out the New York Giants last week and have a top-5 run defense in the NFL. But the Seahawks could be very motivated this week. Not just because of the playoff opportunity, but because Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians was caught on camera saying that Arizona was visiting their "home field" this week.

There's some truth to Arians' statement considering the Cardinals recent success in Seattle. However, Arizona's success has come with Carson Palmer under center and with his injury Drew Stanton will be filling in. The last time that happened, the Cardinals lost in 2014, 19-3.

This team clearly has its issues on offense and has been devastated by injuries on defense. But I'm not ready for this season to end and I'm always optimistic about what can happen with Russell Wilson leading this team into the postseason. Hopefully we'll be talking about a matchup next week against either the Vikings, Rams, Saints or Panthers.

Though the final offensive statistics weren't what we've come to expect from a Seahawks team, this 21-12 victory over the Cowboys reminded both Adam and Brandan of a version of this Seattle team from recent history. Russell Wilson didn't need to put it in the air 30-40 times to get a win, instead they kept it on the ground and grinded out 30 runs while getting takeaways from the defense to secure the win.

The run defense returned to help slow down Elliot's return to the Cowboys and it successfully ended any playoff chance for Dallas this season. Yet, Earl Thomas was caught on camera campaigning for his favorite team growing up to come get him.
