Gameday in Seattle! Seahawks vs Vikings in preseason Week 2

It's almost game time and our first game day in Seattle this season! After the big 48-17 win over the Chargers, I think we're all excited to see a bit more from the first team offense and defense this week.

Hopefully the defense can amp up the pass rush a little bit after last week's showing as Philip Rivers marched down the field for an early touchdown. The positive takeaway, though, was seeing Early Thomas lay some hits just to let us know that he's back.

On the offense, let's see if the team can get the run game going. Coach Cable said this week that the left side of the line is essentially set with George Fant keeping his left tackle job from last year who joins high-priced free agent Luke Joekel who is set at left guard.

Some cool news this week as the team has now re-signed its first offensive lineman of the Coach Carroll era to his second contract. Justin Britt gets a 3-year extension after having a great year at center last year. A big congrats to him!

Thomas Rawls is out this week unfortunately, but we'll be watching to see if Eddie Lacy can help get the run game going along with C.J. Procise. We'll see if Chris Carson can carry over from his 2-touchdown performance to this week.

If you're going to be at the game, be sure to make some noise and you're welcome to join us at our tailgate spot!

166: Seahawks showcase depth as 2nd team puts up big numbers in 1st preseason game

The starters played just one drive against the Los Angeles Chargers this weekend, but the story of the game was showcasing the depth of talent the Seahawks have this season. The 2nd team offense, helped by turnovers created by the 2nd team defense, put up 31 points before halftime. The Chargers were shut out in the second half to give Seattle the 48-17 victory.

Jessamyn McIntyre, executive producer at 710 ESPN in Seattle, joins the show to talk about her takeaways from the first preseason game. She says this is the type of game to give the team its swagger back and talks about her impressions of the Seahawks rookie cornerback Shaq Griffin. While the offensive line looked good, it's still tough to draw conclusions about which players will be starting come Week 1.
