Sea Hawkers,

I’ll have a game preview coming out soon, but wanted to share some information on ticket options for this year as well as a very important announcement on where to find the game if you’re serving overseas.

Catch the Seahawks Season Opener LIVE

For those of you serving aboard ship or stationed overseas, both AFN Xtra and Direct to Sailor Pacific/Atlantic are scheduled to air the Seahawks game against the Cardinals live at 1300 PDT/ 2000 GMT.

For those of you in Afghanistan, hopefully you’re not on watch and you can get an evening nap in. Kickoff is as 0030 Monday morning.

Discounted Seahawks Tickets, Donated Tickets and Giveaways

Last year our Military Sea Hawkers club received many generous ticket donations and we were able to turn those around to allow more than 50 members to make it to a Seahawks game.

Ticket donations often come in the last couple hours leading up to the game. If you’re planning on watching the game near the stadium, please let me know and I can contact you directly if a donation comes through.

With ticket prices now running at more than double face value for the first few games, we may not see as many donations. If they come through, I plan to email all club members. Tickets will go to those who respond quickly.

I’ve talked to a few people who have had success getting tickets at Joint Base Lewis/McChord as well as the bases in Everett and Bremerton. Visit the Military Merits website, and follow the link to local ITT offices (Navy). For tickets on JBLM, see the Leisure Travel Services website for information. Tickets through the base are discounted $5 off face value. If tickets aren’t available through the base, I use TiqIQ.com to find the best deals on tickets.

For ticket giveaways and other special offers, you should consider following @Mil_SeaHawkers on Twitter if you’re not already, or “like” us at www.facebook.com/MilitarySeaHawkers. Most of the ticket giveaways I find are posted there (because it’s easy for me to retweet or share via Facebook), but you can check the Forum section of the website as well.

And there’s more to come! Can you tell that I’m fired up for another season of Seahawks football?  GO HAWKS!!!

-Brandan
