The Seahawks are in prime time for the first time this season, and I can honestly say that I don’t think I’ve seen fans this excited for a game in a long time. I think there are a lot of excited Packers fans too. It’s the only reason I can explain why tickets are now going for 4-5 times more than face value. There will potentially be a lot of green jerseys in the stands, but even if that happens you can bet the 12th Man will drown them out. A win on Monday night and everyone else around the NFL will recognize that last week’s win over the Cowboys wasn’t a fluke.

seahawks on afn/dts for 3rd straight week!

For the third straight week those of you serving aboard ship or stationed overseas, will once again be able to catch the Seahawks on tv. Both AFN Sports and Direct to Sailor Sports are scheduled to air the Seahawks Monday Night Football game against the Packers live at 1730 PDT/ 0030 GMT (Tuesday AM).

There are also two replays of the game the next day. I always try and watch the game more than once if they win, so if you’re anything like me you’ll be glued to the TV the following day if (consciously not saying “when” to avoid the jinx) Seattle gets the win. AFN Sports and DTS Sports replay the games on Tuesday at 0400 PDT/1100 GMT and again at 1000 PDT/1700 GMT.

A Better take on the cowboys loss

I saw a post on Twitter this week that Jim Rome was looking for a new writer. Considering his take was on the Cowboys game against the Seahawks last week was clearly written from the perspective of not giving Seattle enough credit, I took a couple minutes to re-write his take for him from the perspective of a Seahawks fan. Here’s his take from Monday.

What he should’ve said:

How could a team that couldn’t manage to catch a fourth quarter pass in the end zone in week 1 . . . look so good while dominating and embarrassing the so called, “America’s Team?” Either the Cowboys spent 10 days practicing their skills in fumbling, interception throwing and allowing punts to be blocked, or the Seahawks caught them completely off guard. Maybe the Cowboys have been taking part in one of those hardcore exercise programs that everyone is into, only in reverse and the program turns players soft.

Tony Romo did warn his teammates it was going to be difficult, right? Perhaps it was too overwhelming for Romo to bring up his past experience from his visit to Seattle, but he has to know the 12th Man is still going strong. If he didn’t know, he should know, and now every guy on the Cowboys roster knows. After a beatdown like that, they aren’t likely to forget it any time soon.

One question for Jerry Jones. “Why are you still crying about Golden Tate’s block on Sean Lee.” Lee took that hit like a man and didn’t once go crying to the media about it. Jones on the other hand did plenty of crying, so much so as if you get the impression that was the reason they lost the game. Let me remind you that the Cowboys had essentially given up by the time that Lee got flattened. Had Lee not had more (figurative) heart than the rest of his teammates, maybe he could’ve saved his (literal) heart from getting so badly bruised.

Dallas was getting all sorts of hype coming into this game. Sure the Cowboys got a road win in the Meadowlands, but the Giants aren’t that great of a home team. As good as the Seahawks have been at home, every Seattle fan knows they don’t play well out east. Taking that fact into consideration, the Seahawks beat the Giants in their house last year and New York went on to win the Super Bowl. So why should the Cowboys have gotten so much hype for doing this year what the Seahawks were able to do last year?

So it’s really no surprise that Seattle picked up this win. And just so you know, this won’t be the last time I hype the Seahawks, because over the next 14 weeks – they’re going to make a lot of teams look terrible.
