Check out the mockup of the new Military Sea Hawkers cover. It will be available at the Military Appreciation Day game next weekend.
It’s hard to believe we’re halfway through the season already. 4-4 is an okay place to be I guess. Definitely better than the 2-6 record it seemed that most “experts” had us pegged for, but I’d feel a lot better if the Hawks could’ve pulled off at least two more wins. I think 6-2 for the second half of the season isn’t out of the question though.
This week’s game against Minnesota is going to tell us a few things about the Seahawks. The Vikings have a solid defense, and definitely the best defense that has come into CenturyLink this season. How they play against this team will show us how they’ll handle other top defenses at home — the 49ers most importantly.
As excited as I am about making the road trip to Seattle this weekend for the game, I’m really fired up about next weekend and the Military Appreciation Day game against the Jets. I also got some officially licensed Military Sea Hawkers hats made up for the game.
I hope they look as good as they do in the photo, but I’ll find out for sure when they come in the mail on Tuesday. If you’re interested in getting one, see Traci’s post below (same as the invitation to the postgame party that you should have already received in yoru email).
Is anyone else going to Rumble on the Ridge 26 at the Snoqualmie Casino Saturday night. I’ve never been to a live MMA event, so I’m looking forward to seeing the action in person. I know watching hockey on TV versus seeing it live makes a huge difference, so I’m curious if it lives up to that similarity.
Two new blog posts this week that you’ll find on the right hand side. One is about recognizing Richard Sherman as the NFL’s new king of trash talk and one about Matt Flynn and why it’s okay that he’s staying on the bench.
Looking forward to seeing folks at the game this weekend! GO HAWKS!!!

Seahawks vs. vikings on AFN Atlantic
Despite my efforts to try and get enough people to vote in the Seahawks for the AFN Game of the Week (thank you to the Seahawks for multiple retweets this week to provide some help), we weren’t able to pull off win.
But don’t be disappointed (unless you are out to sea), because the Seahawks game against the Vikings is scheduled to air at 1300 PT/2100 GMT on AFN Prime Atlantic. If you are at sea, cross your fingers that they screwed up the schedule, because for whatever reason they have the same sports schedule on DTS Atlantic as DTS Pacific. You should check one of those two channels at game time just in case.
Please continue to vote for the AFN Game of the Week on Facebook starting Sunday night through Wednesday. Let me know if you have trouble with any of the links I send out.
Military Appreciation Day Postgame Party
Hey Seahawks fans! It’s almost that time of year again. The Seahawks are hosting a Military Appreciation Day game coming up in a couple weeks and we hope to see you all there!
In addition to whatever the team is planning on game day as a tribute to all of you and our fellow service members, the Military Sea Hawkers club is planning to meet after the game at the King Street Bar and Oven just across the street from C-Link. We had a great turnout last year and ended up staying until the place closed down. Hopefully we can pack even more of our members in there this year.
If you’d like to go, please RSVP on the Military Sea Hawkers events page at www.militaryseahawkers.com/events. You can also RSVP by email by dropping an email to military.seahawkers@gmail.com. This will let us know about how many to expect. Some members of the Sea Gals may be attending again this year, so let us know if you’d like a calendar so they know how many to bring and sign.
This has been an amazing year so far for the club. We’re up over 650 members and part of that is due to the Seahawks new Salute to Service page. Please check it out to see everything the team has done to be involved with our military. They truly have a great appreciation for everything we’ve all done for this country.
Thanks again for all YOU do!!!!
Something else that’s pretty cool, for this year’s Military Appreciation Day game we were able to get custom hats officially licensed by the Seahawks and the NFL for our club. Check out a picture here: http://ow.ly/eS6k0. Those of you who can make it to the party will have first dibs. A $20 donation will get you a hat and some help toward food and drinks for the group. Of course, anyone who wants to come can get in free.
If you can’t make it and we have some hats left, we should be able to ship one to you for $20 and still break even. The same goes for a Sea Gals 2013 autographed calendar – we can get one to you in the mail, though shipping might be a bit more, probably $25 total. Hit up Brandan to get his PayPal address if you’re out of the area and want a hat or calendar.
Can’t wait to see everyone at the game. GO HAWKS!!!
