Following through with my plans to get a newsletter out every month in the offseason, I’m obviously procrastinating until the very end of the month, but I made it! Had I not waited this long then I couldn’t share with you a couple of important survey’s that are up on the website. Yes . . . that’s the excuse I’m going with.
Every year the Sea Hawkers club selects the top players from the offense, defense and special teams to award at the Annual Sea Hawker Banquet. This year’s banquet is scheduled for April 27th. Mark your calendars!
The two surveys for Seahawks Players of the Year and Sea Hawker of the Year are up on militaryseahawkers.com/page/media. Both awards will be announced at the banquet on the 27th. Please vote for Players of the Year as soon as you get this email. The deadline for our club to get the votes into Central Council is March 1st. The deadline for Sea Hawker of the Year isn’t until April 1.
After filling out your surveys, please go back to the calendar and save the date for the Sea Hawkers Draft Day Party on the 25th. More details will be coming for both events in the next month.
One final annoucement about the the 4th Annual Team Blitz Pub Crawl. For those who don’t know Ryan Asdourian, he is the man in the Blitz costume. In December 2008, he was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. Over the last four years, our club has helped to support his efforts to raise funds for the National MS Society. Learn more about it on Blitz Tackles MS Website. You can join the pub crawl or the Walk MS event in April. If you’d like to add to our club’s annual donation, you can donate via PayPal by sending to donate@militaryseahawkers.org and place Blitz Tackles MS in the subject.
I also want to say thanks to all the new members and to everyone who has “liked” the Facebook page and have joined the website after learning about our club. We’re now over 1,000 Likes on Facebook and the next big milestone we’re coming up on is 1,000 club members. Right now we’re at 941. My goal is to make it there before the Sea Hawker banquet.
Now that the Combine is behind us, the NFL offseason is only beginning. With free agency starting next month and the draft in April, let’s hope the offseason flies by and we’ll be back to watching football soon. If it doesn’t move that quickly, you can bet that CB Richard Sherman will find a way to provide us with plenty of offseason entertainment.
GO HAWKS!!!

12 Unforgettable Moments OF the 2012 Season
With the Pro Bowl now behind us, it marked the last time Seattle Seahawks players would take the field for the 2012 season.
One of the most memorable seasons in Seahawks history is officially in the books. Too bad it couldn’t have had a better ending.
From going 11-5 for the first time in team history to having two quarterbacks compete to decide who would become the new leader of the team, there were several moments that captured the attention of Seahawks fans throughout 2012.
Honorable mentions include the Seahawks’ 58-0 win over the Arizona Cardinals, Russell Wilson’s team record for rushing touchdowns by a quarterback against the Buffalo Bills, the near comeback over the Falcons in Atlanta, and the sprinklers randomly coming on during their game against the Miami Dolphins. All were memorable moments, but may easily be forgotten as years go by.
Here are 12 of the moments that will stick in the minds of Seahawks fans for many years to come when they think back to the 2012 season.
