Even though there haven’t been many newsletter this offseason, there have been a number of exciting things happening for our Military Sea Hawkers club lately keeping us busy. Two quick things: We’re looking at rolling out a redesigned website that should offer some new features and the Veteran Tickets Foundation (Vettix) has offered to help our club with submitting for 501(c)(3) charity status.
What’s really cool is that Richard Sherman’s Blanket Coverage foundation has offered service members and their families the chance to attend the 2014 Richard Sherman Celebrity Softball Game. Their representatives have told me that they are guaranteeing 25 tickets, and if there is enough interest they may be able to donate as many as 250 tickets!
First, I want to direct folks to our 2014 Richard Sherman Celebrity Softball Game events page. Post on the comments wall (you’ll see my post there) that you would like to attend and how many tickets you would like. We will try and accommodate everyone who posts a ticket request.
Secondly, we want your help in getting a shout out from Sherman at the softball game. If we get in the top 5 for social media mentions of all the clubs participating we’ll be recognized — but of course I want to be #1. If you’re outside the area, please help us out.
Here’s how you can participate: take a selfie with your best attempt at mimicking Sherman when he was getting into it with Tom Brady and use the hashtag #YouMadBro and tag Military Sea Hawkers on Facebook and Instagram or @Mil_SeaHawkers on Twitter.
Lastly, July 1st is the final stop of the Heroes of 12 Trophy Tour. The Seahawks will be brininging the Lombardi to Hangar 9 at McChord Air Force Base. If you’re on the other side of the state at Fairchild AFB, there is an event in Spokane for all Seahawks fans July 18. Visit the 12 Tour page for other Washington, Oregon and Alaska locations.
GO HAWKS!!!

Sea Hawkers podcasT: Episode 31
It feels like a new season is starting now that OTAs and minicamp are over, and the Seahawks have now received their Super Bowl rings. Time now to get started on the 2014 season.
In this show, Adam and Brandan talk about being one Viking closer to getting Adrian Peterson, offer our thoughts on Earl Thomas taking over as Seattle’s punt returner, and our thoughts on Marshawn Lynch and rumors that he is unhappy with his contract.
Richard Sherman was recently voted to be face of Madden 2015. He wants the rest of the Legion of Boom to join him. Midwest Sea Hawker Jason Coiner comes on the show to discuss his petition to attempt to persuade EA to grant Sherman’s request.
Lastly, we have one of our listeners from “across the pond” give us a call, FIFA and Charlie Whitehurst are called out in the “Do Better” segment, and Brady Quinn and Richard Sherman are our distinguished Better at Life representatives.
