From Thomas Buren –
Armando Mejia, our Military/international outreach representative, and I are working on the “Cell Phones for Soldiers” drive for the upcoming military appreciation game November 11th Game. We want to reach out to our beloved Sea Hawkers for some much needed volunteer support.
The Seattle Seahawks and non-profit Cell Phones for Soldiers Inc. are asking the Sea Hawkers to help troops call home, by donating gently-used cellular phones on November 11th. With ongoing deployments to combat areas and elsewhere, as many as 369,000 troops are serving in the U.S. military overseas. By donating gently-used cellular phones to Cell Phones for Soldiers, Seattle Seahawks Fans can provide troops with that precious connection to loved ones back home. Each cell phone that is donated will provide one 60-minute calling card for a soldier.
We are asking Sea Hawkers if they would like to volunteer their time for this great cause.
Time to arrive at NW Ballards: 8:30 am You will be giving directions from our staff at this point.
We will need between 45-65 Seahawker volunteers
-Once 1st quarter starts, 10-15 minutes after kickoff we are going to ask everyone to return the donations or items back to the NW Ballard (Hub area)
-We prefer all Volunteers have tickets to the game, as we cannot provide tickets due to the game being sold out.

If you’d like to volunteer, please email me your name and cell phone number at military.seahawkers@gmail.com. The Seahawks are looking for 45-60 folks to help out. If you don’t have tickets for the game, Traci and I can see about making arrangements to watch the game at the King Street Bar & Oven and then you can stick around for the party after the game!
